The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) is widening Perkins Road between McElroy Road and Lakeview Road. The widening project includes turn lanes, storm sewer improvements, sidewalks, and a retaining wall in some locations.
To accommodate construction of this road project, the City is responsible for relocating water lines in the area.
The proposed concept includes:
Widening the road to provide turn lanes at key locations along US-177
Center median to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents.
A new, signalized intersection at the driveways for Lowe's and Buffalo Wild Wings. This signal will be between Redbud Drive and Krayler Avenue.
Pedestrian and bicycle improvements through a multi-use path along the west side of US-177 and sidewalk along the east side of US-177.
April 23, 2020: Construction has been awarded to 4M Trenching and will begin in early May.
May 29, 2020: Notice to Proceed was issued to 4M Trenching on May 4, 2020. The Contractor has mobilized along Perkins Road and begun potholing the existing water line. City Staff are exercising valves and performing test water shutdowns to determine affected areas for future water line tie-ins.
June 24, 2020: 4M Trenching has begun construction on the numerous water line tie-ins required for this project. Updates on future water interruptions will be posted here and notices will be sent to impacted customers.
July 29, 2020: 4M Trenching has completed 50% of the water line relocation work and is progressing with restoration in some areas along Perkins Road.
August 27, 2020: 75% of the water line relocations have been completed. Work is beginning near Lakeview Road.
November 11, 2020: 95% of the water line relocations have been completed. The final water line tie-ins are underway.
January 4, 2021: 4M Trenching has completed all the water line relocations on Perkins Rd. and currently progressing with final restoration.
