What We're Doing

The culvert was damaged during the flooding events during the spring of 2019 and is being replaced through this project. 

This is a joint project with the Federal Highway Administration and administered through the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT). The City is responsible for design, utility relocation and construction, and FHWA is reimbursing the city for 80% of the cost within the current right of way.  

Anticipated Milestones

  • Anticipated Date: Design complete

  • Anticipated Date (Construction): Construction to start Dec. 2, 2019

  • Anticipated Date (Completion): February 1, 2020 

Benefits of the Project

The project will replace an aged and damaged culvert and will include an updated guardrail system. 

Budget & Funding

  • Year Funded: FY2019

  • Funding Source: Transportation Sales Tax Fund and state and federal transportation dollars

  • City of Stillwater for design, utility relocation and rights of way acquisition

  • Oklahoma Department of Transportation's Construction Budget (from ODOT's 8 Year Plan): $13,390,000
