What We're Doing
The Stillwater Utilities Authority is replacing the water mains along portions of Chester and Fern. In addition, this project will also include relocation of water meters and service lines in the Tucker Addition area.
Benefits
The project will replace the current old/aging water mains and improve access to the new lines.
In the Tucker Addition area, a new water main was constructed in 2011 along S Hartford St. between 14th Ave and 16th Ave. as a replacement to the water main located in the alley between S Perkins Rd and S Hartford St. Property owners connected to the water main in the alley will now be reconnected to the newer water mains on either S Hartford St. or S Perkins Rd. To do this, new water meters and service lines will be constructed.
Timeline
Updates
May 31, 2016: Water Utilities Department has reviewed the design engineers' (RJN) pre-submittal drawings and provided comments. Letters to property owners informing them of the project were mailed in mid February.
July 26, 2016: Design drawings are complete. Mandatory Pre-bid meeting was held July 21st. Bid opening will be held on July 29th at 3pm.
Sept. 9, 2016: Patriot Construction Services Inc. won the bid and a pre-construction meeting was held September 8th. Patriot will begin mobilization on September 19th.
November 9, 2016: Patriot Construction Services Inc. began construction October 31; working from the southeast corner of 13th and Chester St and moving south to the end of Chester past 15th.
December 1, 2016: Work is progressing quickly on Chester and Fern Streets. Water line installation is complete on Chester and nearly complete on Fern. Work has now moved to the Tucker Addition where Patriot Services Inc. will be abandoning the old waterline in the alley between Perkins Rd. and Hartford St. from 14th to 16th. Customers currently connected to the water line in the alley will be reconnected to water lines on Perkins Rd or Hartford St.
December 23, 2016: Project complete. Final walk-through completed the week of December 19.
