Input needed on next year’s City budget

Released:Dec 07, 2020

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / Dec. 7, 2020) – It’s that time of the year again… the City of Stillwater is nearing the Budget Preparation Phase of its yearly budget cycle and is calling on you to participate. Whether you prioritize funding for Stillwater’s parks, roads or something else, let the City know. Submit your ideal City budget online at

Stillwater residents, this is your tax money. Tell us what City services you want to see prioritized this next fiscal year,” Finance Director Christy Cluck said. “It’s easy to submit this input online, too. The City’s online budget tool allows residents to play with the City’s current budget in real-time, with the same constraints we have. Once you have a balanced budget that you like, you can submit it directly to us.”

The input submitted online is reported to the Finance Department, the City Manager’s Office and City Council, who will be preparing and finalizing the FY2022 City budget this coming spring.

Community groups and organizations can get involved, too. The City’s Finance Department is offering virtual, interactive presentations on the City budget to any organizations who are interested. If you want a presentation at your next group meeting, email to set up your time and date.

The City’s budget cycle is a year-round process that includes budget preparation, council hearings and approval, implementation and auditing. The City uses revenue from sales tax, use tax, other fees and taxes, to fund services like the police department, fire department, the library, parks and roads.
