ANNOUNCEMENT
(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / Oct. 29, 2019) – Why is the 2020 Census important to you? The City of Stillwater answers this question in two new videos that are designed to encourage a complete count.
Hear it from an animated Mayor Will Joyce: Your participation in the 2020 Census brings your tax money back to you and your community. Watch as Joyce explains that for each person not counted, Oklahoma loses $1200 in federal funding.
The City is part of a Complete Count Committee that includes a variety of community partners to educate residents on why the census matters to Payne County. Watch as representatives from Cushing, Payne County Commissioners Office, Stillwater Public Schools, OSU Leadership & Campus Life and Our Daily Bread explain what the buzz is all about.
Census Day is April 1, 2020. Look out for a post card in the mail.
