City Council selects Stillwater (Re)Investment Plan Implementation Policy Committee members, calls for applicants for other advisory boards

MEDIA RELEASE

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / Sept. 25, 2018) – Stillwater City Council appointed four residents to the Stillwater (Re)Investment Plan (A Stillwater Downtown/Campus Link Project Plan) Implementation Policy Committee during its regular meeting on Monday, Sept. 24.

The four resident committees members are:

  • Susan Arrington
  • Jeremy Bale
  • Mark Blakeman
  • John Killam

The full committee will consist of these four individuals and a representative from each of the following taxing jurisdictions: Stillwater Public Schools, Meridian Technology Center and Payne County.

The seven members will serve for two-year terms. Committee meetings will be open to the public and future agendas will be posted on the kiosk outside the Stillwater Municipal Building at 723 S. Lewis St. and online at http://stillwater.org/agenda.

The City Council selected the committee members from a list of 20 applications. The Council encourages all applicants and the community to attend the public meetings for the committee and consider applying for another citizen advisory board and committee.

Call for Applicants: Planning Commission and Stillwater Regional Airport Authority

The Stillwater City Council is also looking for applicants for vacancies on the Planning Commission and the Stillwater Regional Airport Authority.

Why you should consider applying for the Stillwater Planning Commission

  • The Planning Commission helps direct Stillwater’s development and encourages social and economic improvements in accordance with modern city planning principles. The Planning Commission also ensures the orderly and efficient arrangement and development of new land use projects through the Land Development Code and the Stillwater Comprehensive Plan.

Why you should consider applying for the Stillwater Regional Airport Authority

  • Some of the authority’s duties include developing policies for operating the airport, oversight of routine fiscal affairs, maintaining a current master plan document, maintaining and upgrading the airport and facilities, expanding and developing existing airport assets, actively seeking FAA and state funding opportunities for improvements and more.

  • The authority works closely with the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce to promote economic development associated with the Airport Industrial Park and Airport Business Development Park.

City residency is required to apply for both of these committees.

Apply for the Stillwater (Re)Investment Plan Implementation Policy Committee by Sept. 21

MEDIA RELEASE

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / Sept. 14, 2018) – Stillwater City Council is encouraging residents to apply for the Stillwater (Re)Investment Plan (A Stillwater Downtown/Campus Link Project Plan) Implementation Policy Committee.
 
All applicants must be a resident within Stillwater city limits. Applications should be turned in by Friday, Sept. 21 at 5 p.m.

The Council will review the applications and make a selection of four residents to serve on the committee at an upcoming meeting.
