(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / Jan. 12, 2017) – The City of Stillwater is saying goodbye to a key member of its Finance Department for the past 34 years with the retirement of Carol Brunnemer this month.
Brunnemer began working at the City as an accounting clerk in 1982. In the '90s, she accepted the position of accounting clerk supervisor, and in 2009 she also took on the role of purchasing card administrator. Her title changed to financial services supervisor in 2015.
During her time at the City, Brunnemer assisted with financial applications, the transition to purchase cards and facilitated training for her department.
Brunnemer said her favorite part about working at the City is the people and finding solutions for the challenges her job presents.
“I’m very grateful to the City of Stillwater and all it has provided me,” Brunnemer said. “I will miss being here and the people very much.”
She also enjoys learning new things and helping others solve problems.
Brunnemer plans to spend more time reading, gardening, traveling and being with family and friends during her retirement.
“We are sad to see Carol leave the City after so many years, but we wish her the best in her retirement,” Finance Manager Tammy Brown said.
A farewell event for Brunnemer is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. in room 2073 at the Stillwater Municipal Building, 723 S. Lewis St.
