City welcomes new water treatment plant superintendent

Water Treatment Plant Superintendent Doug Carothers

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / June 20, 2016) –­ With more than 10 years of experience in the water treatment plant business, Doug Carothers is taking a next step in his career as the water treatment plant superintendent at the City of Stillwater.

Carothers’ duties as the water treatment plant superintendent are to manage the water treatment plant, oversee raw water intakes and transmission lines, and maintain water storage and pump stations around Stillwater

Carothers began his career in Idaho where he worked as the superintendent of a small water district. More recently, he worked for Aurora Water in Aurora, Colorado, which is known as one of the most advanced treatment facilities in the world.

“I was fortunate to learn from some of the best people in the water treatment industry,” Carothers said. “I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be in Stillwater and I look forward to making this community proud of the water that their families are drinking.”

He said he is eager to begin his journey in Stillwater and he looks forward to making this city his home.

“We are very glad to have Doug join us at the City of Stillwater,” Water Resources Director Bill Millis said. “His years of experience in the water treatment industry will greatly benefit our customers.”
