The position is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the financial records of the City, annual preparation of the City financial reports, compliance with financial regulations, and completion of complex analytics. This is a self-directed position requiring the ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and rate setting methodology. This position is on a progression with defined pay increases as skills and knowledge are gained through on the job training and certifications are earned.

Summary:
The City of Stillwater is hiring an Engineering Technician I, II, or III. This position will assist the City Engineering Department and other City Departments in the performance of various engineering and surveying related duties. These duties include general civil engineering work, office work, and other duties as assigned. The position is part of an Engineering Technician progression classification that fills the position at levels commensurate with candidates training and experience. This position reports directly to the Director of City Engineering.

Provide assistance, management and oversight of capital projects which may include studies, design, construction and associated efforts related to water distribution, water treatment, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment. Related activities include scope and budget preparation; development of professional, specialty and construction contracts; technical review of submittals and reports; determining compliance with City and State standards; coordination with other divisions, departments and agencies; and managing pay claims and payment process.
